    Finding Employer EIN
I Need to find my employers EIN (Employer Identification Number) It is not on my paystub and I do not want to pay for the service or sign up for something in order to obtain this information. I get place back to getting a EIN for a business every time but no list of current businesses and their EIN. I want to file my taxes now and can do so if I only had this number and my employer doesn't seem to have the interest to get back with me. Why can't I just get this Tax ID number? Help

SO pay the fee and get it... or are you working under the table?

Seems really odd that you claim you never got it.

I'm sure they see it as asking for something you should already know and keep secure.

I am not working under the table! I only worked for them this year so I don't have any previous w2's with the EIN on it. Quite a lot that number is on the company pay stubs (not mine) I have called the company up and left messages for the EIN

Well... they may be assuming any phone calls to be of unknown origion... when it comes to personal info such as that... meaning they can't confirm who is really making the call. Yes it might be you, but it might be anyone trying ot get very personal information.

DO you have a local Human resources dept you can go to in person?

The EIN will be listed on your W2. You should be receiving your W2 in the next couple of days, - just be patient! Besides, it is risky to simply take your final pay stub information and use it to do your taxes - it is not unusual for a few details to differ, and you don't want to have to file an amended return just to save two days.

Ok so I know that we have to wait until we get our W2's before filing our taxes this year, so using your last paycheck stub does not work. So I thought I would search and find out if I could view my W2 online and get a copy instead of waiting for my employer to mail it. If you knew my employer then...
