    If we were married in Florida but live in North Carolina what state law do we follow ?

    To get a divorce. We were married in Florida but we now live in North Carolina. We have been here for eight years. Do we follow Florida's divorce procedures or North Carolina?

    You follow the laws and file in the state you have residence.

    So in your case you file in NC and that will automaticlaly have you following their laws.

    Yes, You follow the laws where you are a resident. After 8 years, you are residents of NC.
