Howdy folks,

I have a question on your experience with kitchen sink faucets - one with a single lever and a built-in hose. Our current faucet has a single lever and the hose is part of the faucet nozzle. Which ones have you found to be most reliable? Ones that won't leak or drip after a reasonable amount of time (3-5 yrs). I ask because I replaced our's last year and it is already dripping, and we have difficulty positioning it "closed" such that it doesn't drip. To be frank I'm not sure of the brand. It as a red/blue "ying/yang"-link symbol on it. I recall our having a Moen a few years ago which lasted for 5 or 6 years, but after an internal valve replacement it finally failed for good. We have public water, but our towns supply system is old, in need of repair, and we lose water pressure annually (not unusual to lose it more than once in a year). I suspect we get sediment in the water; the water after a pressure loss is usually a bit dirty (initially), and I wonder if that particulate causes premature wear on the seals of the faucet.

Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. I would really like to install a faucet and not have to deal with it for some time.

Do you know if there is a difference in quality in both Delta and Moen faucets between their less expense kitchen faucets (<$100) and their more expense faucets? Do they have better valves and fittings with the higher cost, or is their valve quality pretty much consistent across the product lines?

I think Moen is your best shot. In my experience, Delta is almost always a problem within a 3 year time span. Moen seems to have the better quality product AND the best lifetime warranty and technical support in the industry, if you ask me! IF your next faucet fails they would not only ship the part for free, they would even ship you an entirely new faucet (free shipping) if the finish or the seals failed and damaged the faucet body!

If you buy a Moen it should be the last faucet you purchase for a real long time! If you do purchase the Moen, keep the model number and remember this number... 1800BUYMOEN and they will take care of any issues that ever pop up!

I have to say I also agree completely with Mark. We have had excellent luck with Moen over the years. The cheaper models have the same cartridge as the more expensive models, so you should be good to go with any moen faucet you buy.
Now, that being said, if you have water quality problems(sediment from city shut down periodically) any faucet, even Moen, will have plugging or dripping problems. But like Mark said, with Moen you get the best lifetime warranty with great customer support so its just a matter of a phone call and you'll be back in business for free.
