    Citizenship question
    My mom has a green card. It will be 5 yrs in May 2011. She will be due to apply for her citizenship in may. We were told that she can apply in feb2011. 3 months ahead.
    My question is if she applies in feb will the process start in feb or in may.

    The N-400 petition filing starts the naturalization process, so it can be as early as February. Be sure not to be earlier than 90 days prior to the 5 year mark. USCIS has been very fast on natz lately, only taking about 3-4 months.
