1995 honda civic ex 1.6 vtec starts hard when cold
If vehicle is left outside in temps below 50-60 degrees starts real hard. If parked inside starts perfect every time. When outside if I start it every 2 hours or so it is fine. If left for longer periods it will crank for a long time before firing.

Replace the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor, which affects fuel injector pulse width. The ECT Sensor is a temperature dependent resistor (thermistor), whose resistance decreases as the engine coolant temperature increases. It provides a richer mixture when cold, leaner mixture when hot. They become corroded, due to not changing the coolant frequently enough, flood the engine, and waste a tremendous amount of fuel. The ECT Sensor has two wires going to it, not one. This will help you locate it. |
