How to get released from mortgage on joint house at divorce?
Is it likely that the mortgage company will let her refinance or assume the loan and release me from it? She is in virginia and living in the house and I moved to Florida.

If she has the income to support the mortgage and tax payments, then yes. But if not, then you may have to selll and she would bu a smaller house that she can afford.

I'm not sure about the laws where you live, but my former manager had to go through a lot of paperwork with her ex, who was trying to keep the house they had bought together, and the state of Maine made them put it on the market when he didn't have the right credit to refi. In short, a lot depends on her credit, income, etc. as to the refi.

    Good luck with all this!
