    I am an R1 visa holder and have been filing over the years. I recently returned to classes, I would like to know if I can claim my tuition when I file this year.

    This is religious worker visa and you will file resident tax return. Yes, you will get tuition adjustment deduction or education credit.

    Agreed; R-1 visa holders are treated as foeign workers and will file as a resident, which allows him/her to claim the tuition credit.
