My water runs hot out of the spigot but is cold coming out of the shower
When I use my shower the water coming out of the spigot (or faucet) is scalding hot (as set by the temp control knob) but when I engage the shower the water coming out is only luke warm... what would cause this?! I have a modular home on a finished basement that was built in 1990... any thoughts?

When I run the hot tap, the water runs hot then cold, hot then cold. The boiler ignites when the tap is turned on but then goes off and on, off and on while the tap is running. I have a ravenheat LS80(T) combi boiler

I have a guest bathroom that really doesn't get used very often. I went to use it this weekend and there isn't any cold water coming out of the shower, only hot water. What can I do to get the cold water to work. I have company coming in and they will need to use the shower.
