There's really no way for us to give you a diagnosis.

If it's really bothering you and you can't get to your doctor, than a walk in clinic or the emergency room would be a good idea.

Spider bites aren't as common as people seem to think. It's more likely that you had an allergic reaction to something, but that's just a guess.

You said that you took benadryl and it helped. If it was a spider bite it wouldn't have.

The only way to know for sure what's going on is to see a doctor. We can only guess. Guesses really won't help you.

Bacterial skin infections (cellulitis) are no fun. I let a bug bite behind one knee go a bit too long as a red rash spread and spread, eventually covering my entire leg. It isn't the bug, it's the hole they leave in the skin for bacteria to move into (I'm pretty sure mine was a spider because it was a white volcano). After many antibiotics I am left with many symptoms of heavy duty arthritis all around the knee and calf, and fatigue, and it gets really bad with activity. Similar to Lyme after effects.
C'est la vie, says the MD.
