    What is th e slope for each line given? (m=?)
    1. y=x+9 2.y=3x+7 3.y=4x+8 4.y=7x
    5.y-*=3(x=1) 6.y+2=2(x-1) 7.y-1=4(x+3) 8.y-3=1(x+7)
    When answering each equation, please refer to which one EXP: 6.Y+2=2(X-1)Thanks

    Put all the equations in the standard form first, that is in the form of y = mx + c.

    In that form, you get the slope directly by saying what the value of m is.

    Can you give it a try?

    Yes. But I need an example for me to fully understand it... do you mind giving me one?

    Not really. Notice that in the general formula, m is in front of x.

    So, if you have y = mx + c, the gradient is m.

    Which implies that if you have:
    y = 2x + 1, the gradient is 2
    y = 2 + x, the gradient is 1 (because you rearrange to get y = x + 2)
    2y = 3 - 2x, you need first to put it in the form y = mx + c, that is , giving a gradient of -2/2 = -1.

    Can you post what you got for all those equations to see if you got them right?
