Took too many of the white pills not sure if that hurts you
I am on lutera birth control and have been taking it for a month. A little before the end of the month I lost my birth control in a purse I left at a restaurant. I opened a new container to to use only a little out of it and then take the colored pills. I retrieved my bad from the restaurant and realised I took one week more than I was supposed to. I hadn't gotten my purse for quite some time because I couldn't get to the restaurant for a good amount of time. I wasn't sure how many white pills I had left. I am now on the colored pills. Could it hurt me that I took one week extra of white than I was supposed to? I am on my fourth colored pill and haven't gotten my period yet. Could it mess with your period? I only took the one a day as directed but I'm worried because of how long I was on the white pill.

A call to your pharmacy would be best. The druggist would know exactly.

What you did, unintentionally, is what some women do on purpose in an effort to avoid a period for a specific activity. There are some birth control pills designed to be taken this way, on a regular basis, to limit the number of periods a woman has in a year.

Since you didn't actually double up on the pills, it is unlikely to be a problem, however, as you have found out, it can alter your cycle a bit.

Odds are your periods will resume once you are back on track and get to the next week of placebo pills. Certainly you can just give your doctor's office a call and ask about it over the phone to give you some peace of mind.

You may want to call your doctor and let them what happen.. I'm not sure if it can or not.. Its best if you call asap cause you don't know if it can hurt you later in life
