    No Water Pressure in Showers
    Hi there,

I'm a new homeowner, and have no idea what is going on with my showers. I have a new house, built in 99' and just recently added salt to our water softener over the weekend, which didn't have any salt in it when we moved in. This morning, our two showers do not have enough pressure to work, the other faucets in our house work fine, with the same pressure but the upstairs and downstairs tubs have low pressure. The city said it might have something to do with the water softener. I don't understand the connection, but we've been in the house a month with no problems until now. Can any body help or tell me what to look for?
    Thanks!

The first thing I would do is unscrew the shower head and check to see if the stream is any stronger. Next, as long as I had them apart, I would pry out the rubber water saver and toss it. If I still had a weak stream I would shut the water off and open up the valve, check and clean the inlet ports and then turn the water back on for a minute to flush out the supplies. Good luck, Tom
