New water tank, not staying hot or providing enough hot water
My landlady has just installed a new water tank, as the old one started to leak, had no thermostat to control the temp, so the water was always very, very hot and not earthed, plus I was worried about escalated costs to heat? The water tank is heated by electric only, was econ 7 now just standard. This new tank has the thermostat right at the top of the tank, whereas my old one was near to the bottom (dont know if it makes a difference). My query is, since the new tank has been installed, we no longer get enough hot water for example a bath, you don't need to add cold even with the thermostat at 65, and the water doesn't stay hot for long. Is this normal? (its timed to heat twice a day now for 2 hours). I can only compare with my old tank, which was timed to heat for only a hour at night, the water stayed hot all day and night, and was more than enough for bath, shower and general usage in the bathroom. It does only provide the bathroom, nothing else. Why is this?? Thanks

I have a gas hot water tank (apx. 40 gallons). The tank works great, though I'm perplexed with one behavior. No hot water early in the mornings. If the hot water was not used recently (say a day or two) it takes only a short few moments for the water to reach any of the taps - works so well it...
