Im in the army, recently graduated from bootcamp and AIT for MP. I got home Dec.10 For leave before I go to my next unit in Hawaii. When I left, it was so hard to leave my girlfriend of almost a year. And it was such a relief coming home to her. And Now, Im leaving again. Sitting here in a airport overnight waiting for my next flight. Her and I are engaged and she won't be able to go with me there until we get married in June (hopefully) depending on if I'm deployed or not. I was OK when I left them at the airport. Sitting here now... I feel so depressed about it almost in tears about it and I don't know hopw to deal with this. I thought it would be easier this time already going through this once. But its not. I don't know how to deal with these emotions...

First, I would like to thank you for your service. Both of my sons have served in Iraq. My oldest even dropped his wife off at the hospital, in labor, and left her there so he could go on his deployment. He didn't see his daughter until she was 6 months old.

Remember that you can keep in constant contact with her. The two of you need to make out a schedule of availability, when you know yours, to get on the computer and Skype... video chat. This is what made my son's deployment so much easier.

You will get through this. I know it seems impossible, but the time really flies.
