    Dual monitor resolution issue
I have set up dual monitors on my windows xp desktop. I have a lcd computer monitor as the primary, and a lcd TV connected by s-video as the second monitor. The second monitor has very poor resolution, and I can not figure out how to correct it. Any idea how to resolve my issue? I have it set as side by side monitors.

    Thanks

You can right click on the main desktop. Choose personalize or choose your video card program if its in the list. Change resolution there.

Regardless of how you set the resolution on the computer, the TV is only going to get roughly 720x480 resolution off a S-Video cable. These connections are for analog TV, which means they are low resolution by today's standards. You will need to use a HDMI, DVI, or VGA connection to get the full quality out of the LCD TV. You may need to replace your computer's video card if the only option for connecting a second display is S-Video.

Yeah I figured, my video card has 2 dvi and an s-video connection. The TV only has vga, s-video, and hdmi. Didn't want to buy both the vga cable and the adapter, would run me almost $50 as opposed to 10 for the s-video cable.

DVI and HDMI are almost identical "under the hood." You can buy a cable with DVI on one end and HDMI on the other end for under $10 online. Using HDMI on the TV will give you a better picture than VGA, so I'd recommend getting that cable.
