I'm a united states marine, I need help!
I'm 19 years old and I joined the marine corps when I was 18. I have an amazing girl friend which I've been dating for the past 2 years. I'm stationed in okinawa japan for 2 years now. I haven't seen her for 6 months but we do talk. I've been feeling depressed for a long long time, since I join the marines. I love her to death. I lost a lot of confidence in myself and been very jelous of her friends. I feel lonely and depressed. I need help.

I'm a Marine and it feels as if nobody appreciates all the bull **** we go through. I'm hating my decision I made and I'm starting to hate where my life is and is heading.

My sister's 2 boys were both Marines. They are the BEST. I am so proud of them. I am proud of all Marines.
I'm sorry you are depressed and are so worried about your girlfriend. I worry about YOU saying you love someone to death. It sounds like you are putting all your life hopes and dreams and interests into her rather than what you are working on, who your fellow Marine friends are, what is interesting about Japan and it's history and culture on your time off, hobbies and books and music and just life.
Perhaps you are afraid that she is slipping away from you, not uncommon when young and so far apart. Have you talked about that with her, with old friends or family or anyone? Is it a possibility? Is it something you are afraid to face if true? At 18 relationships don't last anyway, often enough.
I know it isn't easy to tear yourself out of this one part of your life and trying to look around you for friends and interests, but that's what you have to do. And TALK to her about all this. Give her a chance to be honest.

I am dating a marine he is stationd in afganastan he has been there for about 8 mounths now we also have been dating for two years before when he left, I love him to death and I am so scared for him. And I visit his mom and dad every month to let them no that I am not going to cheat, I love him and all of his friends are in the marines to and every time I stand by them or with them I get a funny feeling in my stomach because it feels like I am standing with the prezedent or some kind of super hero and I think that it is so awsome that they are sooo very brave to go out there like they are. I would just be so terribley scared there is no way I could do it. I amm very thankful that we have people like you to fight for our country. And every month my church spends 300 dollars to ship you supplies and we pray for you every day. Thank you so much for everything you do! -amilia darling,

    Hello p:

    SOME of us do!

Dude! You're young, and with the Marines in your background, you'll be able to write your own ticket. If this chick doesn't work out, OK. There's others. You ARE 19, after all.

Be safe. Ok, you're in Japan.. Watch out for those cabs!
