Is a 3 year residential lease binding without being notorized in Washington state
Our family sign a 3 year lease in the state of Washington about 18 months ago. But the rent is too high for us with job cut backs. Our landlord won't let us out of our lease. So we wanted to know if his 3 year lease is binding since it was never notorized.

What is everyone's belief that a notary makes something more legal. A notary is merely a legal witness to prove who signed the paper work. There is no requirement to have it notarised at all.ads

It was your choice to take a 3 year lease, which was to I assume get a lower price at the time

The lease is binding and you can get out only by the terms of the lease.
