Movie with teens locked in cages

I've been trying to remember other stuff about this movie for months now, but all I know is
That there are at least two sequences in which one or more teenagers find themselves locked
In some really strange cages (with giant and almost toy-like bars and locks); and then, but
I'm not 100% sure about it, something (some spiders or some strange liquid) starts to come
Down to them, making them scream in terror.
I watched this movie when I was a kid, so it must be pre-1995, I'd say 1984-1990.
