Installing a 2 or 4 piece shower/tub system on exterior block wall location.

Should I just use furring strips(ect.)on the block and then put 6mil poly then greenboard or cb.then fit the shower walls. I know in florida( hot climates ) sometimes they use poly on outside or both in bathrooms. Should I also go wall to wall and ceiling with poly?

Should I use any insulation behind the shower on the block side(1") or leave an air channel?

And as far as framing,is it usually code to use tar paper on bottom of wood that touches the tarazzo(frame base)before it gets screwed into floor?

Did a little research and found that the southern states with high humidity and temps will only use a vapor retarder on outside walls only.As chemical vapor retarders where applied to the inside of the block walls on install in 1955, I assume istalling vapor retarders will not be needed. The furring strips and open air gap at ceiling should provide adequate ventilation and both walls will pass vapor to dry cavity.

IF this sounds good let me know,If I am not understanding any of this then please inform me of the wiser.

I don't know about the vapor barrier, but if you are tiling the walls, you should use cement backer board. Greenboard is no longer up to code for this use.
