To make sure everything is running fine run both anti virus and anti spyware apps in normal AND safe modes. (make sure that they are updated first ! ;)) (AVG is good and free AV)
(A couple of good removal tools are Spybot and Adaware)

ALso an on line virus and spyware scanner is Trend Housecall

Just a note; actively running two AV's on one machine can cause problems.
So if you are thinking about it make sure your current one is disabled first.
SAme thing applies to online scanners as well.

Removal of junk files is easy with CCleaner a free app that does exactly what you neeed.

    Unfortunately, not so easy:
AVG (in safe mode), Spybot and Adware cannot find those adwares
And I think CCleaner is not for such purpose.

OK have you tried Housecall, posted earlier ?
Also change your anti virus to DELETE on detection rather than clean and rescan with that.
FULL scans, with all 3, in safe mode will take longer than 20 minutes, but hey ho.

True CCleaner isn't for adware removal, but it is excellent at keeping you machine running well.

I have tried Housecall and it deleted something for me. Now, I still get two items:
    Adware:adware/searchaid Not disinfected c:\windows\system32\sdkfw32.exe
    Adware:adware/ideskbar Not disinfected Windows Registry
    Any suggestions?

After doing other scaning and removing, I still get
    Adware:adware/searchaid Not disinfected C:\WINDOWS\sdkdi32.exe
    Note, before it is
    Adware:adware/searchaid Not disinfected c:\windows\system32\sdkfw32.exe
And note, I found such adware by use pandasoftware online Activescan which can only detect but not delete adware.

Download the trail of counterspy-- its free for a 15 day try, well rated and the times I have had to use it was very good. When it comes to spy-ware programs -- always research the program -- there are a lot of rogue vender's out there that will advertise a free test -- tell you that your loaded with spy/ad ware and that you must buy their program to fix.

    Follow these steps:
Use the following program CCleaner.com Download Install and run it. Select Run cleaner lower right of window. Exit the program when finished.

Update your adware program but do not run it
Check that system restore is disabled if is is not virus or adware keeps coming back

Disconnect cable or connection to internet physically.

Start the computer in SAFE MODE.

    Run your adware program.
Restart the computer normally after connecting to the internet.

First off: which program is warning you of this adware?
If could be a bogus malware removal program.
