How do set independent under counter ice maker when I cut off main water supply to ho
I am going on vacation and due to past water lines bursting nightmares I have been cutting off the main water supply to the house. Plumber said there was nothing extra I needed to do. Yet when I got back my ice maker (independent under counter type) was making a lot of noise and sounded like it was about to burn up. Is there something special I need to do to it?

You turned off the water but left the icemaker on. The noise you heard was the icemaker trying to cycle after it made ice. You can get the same noise with a refrigerator icemaker. You can probably turn off the icemaking cycle separately, refer to the manual if you have one or download one.
