    How long can they hold you in jail for probation violation?
    My husband was locked up for parole violation and he was in custody they put a warrant for his arrest on probation violation how long can they take before they have to realase him

    There is no limit, they hold him till they have a hearing, normally takes place within a couple weeks, but I have seen it take a month or two at times.

    Then of course if the judge agrees, he can merely be sent to prison to serve the probation time and not be released.
