When considering converting from forced hot air to baseboard heat, is it possible to just add piping / water boiler / baseboards and do nothing with the forced hot air system (use it for AC) ?
Second Floor not getting enough heat or air through Forced Air System

I recently switched from radiator heat to a forced air system. I am not getting a strong enough air flow to heat or cool the second floor. As a result I must keep my window air conditioners and now I must go buy electrical heat for the upstair bedrooms. Does anyone know how to fix this situation?

My furnace is making a scratchy noise, almost like there is a metallic wire scratching the inside of the furnace. It is not a rattling sound and this is not its normal noise.
