I was divorced in 2001 an my ex wife got sole custody, an visitaion was limited to stay in the state of CT, I live In Philadelphia an my kids would like to come visit but she won't allow them they are older now an I would love to have them over to visit with me in my home.. they are 16,14,12.. can I go to court an file to change the visitation or what will be my best way to go an get things fixed so I can have my kids visit.

Yes, you will need to contact the court and file for a change in the visitation orders. When you were divorced the children were too young in the court's eyes to have a say in the matter. I live in California, and here that age is 12. If it is the same in CT, the court's decision on changes will weigh more heavily on what the children want than what you or your ex-wife want, UNLESS there was documented abuse or you've been less than a model citizen ( felony, multiple DUI's, etc.)

If the kids want to see you, the court will interview each child individually to see what they think about it and they will base their recommendation almost entirely on the children's collective wants on the matter. Most courts have websites that you can download their forms. I'd call them and see if this an option. If it is, you can start the process without having to make multiple trips to CT to resolve your request for change.

Go to court and file for a modification of the visitation order. Under normal circumstances you shouldn't have any problem convincing a judge to allow your children to come visit you in Phila. But I am curious as to why the original visitation was specifically limited to CT (which I presume was your state of residence at the time of your divorce.)
