Thermostat doesn't shut off after set temperature is reached
We have an electric unit with a heatpump (2 systems, 2 different thermostats)> It is 27 degrees outside, and the heat won't shut off. I have the thermostats set on 72 and 70 degrees, and both show that as the inside temperature. It runs and runs and runs, and if you kick it up 1 degree, the aux heat comes on. If it is running for 15 hours on 72 degrees, why does it need aux heat to heat up one degree. Also, it feels like the air coming out of the vents is cool (not cold, but not warm either). The unit is 1.5 years old, and the installer told me, that is all normal, because it is sooo cold. It was as cold last year, but still the thermostat shut off the heat. I feel like the air coming out not being warm is the factor, that keeps the room from reaching the temperature. What could be wrong (before I call a different repair service, I want to be informed) thanks, everybody
