Mitsubishi VS60603 sound, PIP, no picture
Hello, I have this TV which is about 7 years old. Recently, the picture no longer works (screen is blue). I tried a couple of hard resets but still the same issue. The sound, PIP, and the menu screen are fine, but if I leave it on for say 5 minutes, it shuts itself off as well. This all happened within days after there was an electrical short elsewhere on the same circuit in my house. The Tv was on a surge strip, so I am not sure if the two are related and I did not use the TV until several days after the short circuit. Is this TV worth fixing? It does not have a ton of hours on it given the age... Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I have a set that was manufactured in May 1999 and after we lost power to our house due to a storm started experiencing the same symptoms you are describing. Were you able to determine the problem?

Hello, I received this answer from another member a very long time ago. By the time I got the answer, the TV was so buried in my garage that I did not get around to trying the fix. Give what he suggested a shot and if you get the time, let me know how you make out. OK?
Jack
Got her going… The memory chip has gone bad, and will stay bad, so each time I have a power outage here are the steps that will put it back into operation.
Using the remote that came with the television.
Press “Menu”
Scroll yellow to “Setup”
Press “Enter”
Scroll yellow to “AV Connection”
Press “enter”
Scroll yellow to right side of “AV Network”
Select “Basic”
Scroll yellow to right side of “Locked to Input 1”
Select “No”
Press “Menu” over and over to exit
Now press “Input” for your input selections.
The screen will still be blue, except for A&B, until you have something hooked to 1,2, or DVD.
While in your garage-- connect a VCR and see if it will work.
Good Luck
Don

Hello Connon,
I just tried the process you had forwarded to me & believe it or not we have our picture back. You just saved me $1500-$2000 from having to buy a new set. I am also a little sad, as I was looking forward to purchasing a new flat panel TV. Guess I will just have to save that purchase for later.
I am still in search for a copy of the users manual if you know where I can find one.
Thanks for your help!!

TV only thin line for picture, has sound
[ 2 Answers ]
My Panasonic TV screen only shows a thin line through the middle of the screen. I can hear the sound and the line that's there changes color, etc if I change channels, to match what would be on that channel.
What causes this and is it worth fixing? Or should I just look for a new TV?
93 Mitsubishi Overheats in Traffic
[ 2 Answers ]
My 93 Mitsubishi Expo runs good until I get stuck in traffic. Then it has a tendency to overheat especially in extended stop and go traffic. I checked the water and anti-freeze and it's okay.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks.
