For two years there has been damage done to my home car and other property ( including the death of a duck and multiple attacks by their dogs and their cats using our front lawn and yard as litter bow scratching up our cars by climbing on them ). From egging to attempted break ins of our vehicles. They shine laser lights on our heads and chests when we come in and out at night. Several times we have complained to the police department ( only after dealing with it for the first 14 months ) we were told that they have lived here longer and to shut up and go in our house and stay in the back yard. Went to mediation got threatened in front of the officer ( which I found out later wasn't even official ) obtained a ppo against neighbor over threats against me and my son. The neighbors tried to have our vehicle towed three separate times stating it was abandoned. All three times the cops came ( twice the same office over the same vehicle ). Tried to complain to the EPA? Don't get it. Filed multiple complaints ( and had their friend and neighbor do the same ) with the ordinance officer - never once was a violation issued the worst they could find was a wheel barrow, stacked railroad ties and basketball net next to the garage which was here when we moved in 1-09 and as soon as the snow cleared and we seen it we removed it - all the city did was issue a letter ASKING us to take care of it. Now keep in my mind I understand where we live( no hoa ) but come on the people down the street have a broke down flat tired vehicle sitting in there front yard for two years now. During mediation I was informed there was a report by them stating that we threatened their lives and have guns in our home and they are in fear... WHAT?? I filed a FOA and of course its not available.The officers would not take complaints from us because they said there was nothing we could do. We had proof of the damage and proof of the harassment by the family members of the neighbor we obtained a ppo against. We were told by the officer they are claiming is their friend that unless we drop the ppo he can't take a report - so we made the mistake of doing that. When I finally forced them to do something I got a phone call from a detective who tells me he was the prosecutor and that I was trying to maliciously prosecute an innocent person. - mind you the whole time did not know he was a family member until we were informed so by the police after my complaint. After dealing with all this I filed a complaint with the chief of police against the officers and every one in my home has been pulled over and now there is a warrant for one of my household members arrest because he has to park he extra long truck in the drive not on the street because it gets vandalized ( and it is a company vehicle and they won't take a report we have to argue with them ) so when he backed out of the drive way he hit the grass on this side of the ditch across the street. So the neighbors who have claimed all along they are personal friends of the chief and a few of the officers filed a complaint. I have retained an attorney to fight each ticket except one as that person was responsible for the ticket and have spent over 7500 out of pocket am completely tapped and have no idea what to do. Now these same neighbors have had video surveillance on our home since July of this year. The police say that they can not nor can the detectives even ask to see this video. Because we were locked into a three year land contract lease that we are going to lose our initial deposit at best we can not leave until June 2011. I can not make alterations to the home until June 2011 so wired surveillance is out and our home wireless is constantly blocking a hack attempt so the cam guy said wireless is no good for me. So I guess after that long winded confusing explanation boils down to does this constitute police harassment and what can I do to make it stop? I am willing to give up the deposit on our land contract to keep my sanity PLEASE HELP ME

Uh what really started this whole shebang with the neighbors? Are they drug dealers who don't like you? What is their problem against you?

Also, this is not police harassment. It's the neighbors.

I'd just move and cut my losses. Sounds like you've gotten yourself into a real mess and the only real way out is just to leave and stop fighting them as they have nothing to lose so guess what - they keep at it until you DO leave.

They do not like one of the vehicles at my home because it is not a luxury automobile. It is in better shape then most people drive as a family car just not clean all the time. As far as drug dealers don't think so. But then who knows anymore.
