I just feel so lost..
Hi,
I'm not really sure where to start.. I just broke up with my boyfriend. It was a long distance relationship. It was going to be our one year anniversary quite soon. We were both very committed to the relationship. I'm not even sure what happened. I guess he couldn't take the distance anymore, and wanted to be single again. Needless to say I am extremely hurt right now. I really did think he was "the one" for me. I'm not really sure how to handle this right now, so that's why I'm here. Within the past 4 months of my life I've already had so many changes.. So right now I feel like I don't have anyone.Because he has always given hope whenever I was about to give up.He is the one who thought me what was true love and life was all about. He asked me to flow with life and move on but I can't possibly do that cause he means a world to me.He still wants me to keep in touch with him and remain friends, but I'm really unsure if I am able to do that. I've never loved anyone as much as I loved him so I doubt I could go back to being "just friends."
Right now I'm looking for someone on here to please help me. It doesn't necessarily have to be advice, just some comforting words I guess...

I totally understand how you feel. I was in a lond distance relationship that broke up as well depite the very intense feelings that I thought we had for one another.
I also tried to be friends but after a few weeks I came to realize that it was going to be to hard. So, I told her I was not going to implement No Contact. She didn't like it very much but, then again she broke it off. But, I can tell you I feel so much better now. One day I may contact her and see if she wants to be friends and perhaps we will be.
If you are having problems letting go I suggest you do the same. Read the stickies at the top of the relationship page. There are some helpful tips there and many people on this forum are always willing to help out. I know NC may seem a little exteme at first but, you really need to start thinking about yourself now. Whether you like it or not you are on your own path now. Your ex is right , you need to flow with it( accept the break up)... living in the past is like trying to swim up stream. Best of luck to you!

Long distance relationships rarely work out. I've been in a few and the reality is unless there a time you can say you'll be near each other again, it's just kind of a relationship wish, not a reality. I think you did the right thing but now you need to focus on yourself and move forward.

He was your world, and now he is gone, and you have no choice but to heal, as we all have to after a hard break up ( all break ups suck), and find your own path. You will eventually, if you take the time to recover from your loss through No Contact, and learn to stand alone, and be happy again with just you. You were before you met, and you will be again.
