    Would like to know who sings this song- first line is " My pain is self chosen"
    It sounds like an Alice in Chains song, but can't find it in my collection.

    The name of the song is River of Deceit. It was done by Mad Season. The reason that it sounds like Alice in Chains is because the lead singer of Mad Season was the late Layne Staley. Seether did a cover of it as well.
