Is there a workaround for relative linking between documents in Word 2007?
I have a problem I would like to get solved. I'm working on structuring up my project folders and would like to get a good template for my folder hierarchy and the document templates. This is where the problem starts.
I have the document templates ready except for one detail. I want to be able to change certain aspects of every document. I've been trying to use Word's linking command where you can link documents together and show the content of the linked document. However this does not work when I need to move all the folders since the linking directory will break. I've been trying to use commands like "..\" to just go one level up in my folders to link to my document I want linked.

To give you guys a better perspective of my folder structure, I'm going to try to explain it some more.

    Root folder for Project templates
Folder 1 --- Contains several document templates touching the project
Folder 2 --- Contains several document templates touching the project
Folder 3 --- Contains several document templates touching the project
Project_info.docx (contains information I want on every document in all of the folders 1-3.)

All folders contain many documents and it would make my work so much easier if I could get the linking to work instead of typing the same thing in all the document templates over and over for every new project. The document I want linked will contain stuff like project name or number.

If anyone know a way to make the link like a hyperlink, where you can jump up one folder level (.. \) or some other way to make this work, I would be very thankful.
