Epoxy coating thickness to shower floor.
I made epoxy coating on bath room, from nippon paint, using 1:4 mix well and coat on bath room, at the beginning looks quite well OK, but afew days of showering on that coating, these layer, came wet with water and dry after hour air flow. But it make epoxy layer hardening to crispy and start cracked coated, later many big pcs turn up due to water lay inside coating and make float from floor, which originally stick.
I guess water make easy humid under layer and dig layer up.
Any one can suggest how to coat well?
I am thinking to dry and clean again , leave of couple days, and to coat again, but this time to coat more thicker, "say atleast 1mm".
Any one suggest me what thichkness should be done for shower floor, as water is the main particles to flip up coating layer (get vapour to expend volume to close space then crack out layer).
    Thank you !

Is the epoxy u used designed for use in shower?

U can get a paint designed for shower at a big box store.

Follow the direction and u should be fine. The prep work is very important as to time when last used before coating and etching of item u are painting.

    Hi Chuck,
Yes it is COPON EA4 BASE, and hardener, they sold for 1;4 ratio, and said can use for watered floor.
I did not know how thick should be, and need give breath holes between grout tile or not. (may be the first time too rush not make too dry for days)

Thank you for another information, will check it out paint then.

I did my shower base with 1 part epoxy(no mixing). Been down 4 yrs. No weep holes.

If u put weep holes in tile and water gets under epoxy, it will lose its bond and bubble. This will cause it to crack and break.

I etched base with acid first. Painted with 4'' roller in green, then a star pattern in white.
