Need help indentifying signature on painting from Marshall Field's
I have a seascape that looks like a California coastal scene. It has a great period frame. The signature is clearly painted, however I can't figure it out. Can anone please help me figure out the artist.

Hello fellows, can anyone help me with the signature of that painting, I can't even recognize a single letter, well appart from the "i" in the first word - anyone with an idea? i think it might be from 2nd quarter of the 20. cent, but I am open to your suggestions. thank you, berns
