    We just had the tub taken out of the guest room bathroom and replaced with a walk in
    Shower only runs cold water!!

    If the water in the other taps in the same bath runs hot, you probably have dirt in the valve. Depending on the model, you may have to remove the middle stem or hot side and flush it out. If stop valves were installed, make sure they are open. Did the plumber leave an access plate? Poor plumbing practice to not check the water flow before buttoning up.
