Finding the right laptop for me?
In a year or so I will be going to college, and so I'm in the market for a laptop. I have no idea what I need on a laptop though. I'm going to school for art so I might take a web design course or something and I would want photoshop elements and things. I want a lightweight laptop and I don't know mac vs. PC? Help would be great.

The truth is things change so fast your best waiting as long as possible to get the most bang for your buck. Minimum specifications would be dual core processor and at least 2 gigs of ram.

Most come standard with WiFi connections. Also you may want to look at things to compliment the laptop like a docking station and be sure to buy insurance in case it is lost or stolen.

If you know where you will be gong to school, see what is recommended for their students.
I have a preference for Macs, the 13" Macbook pro is small and light but has the power for serious hard everyday use I spend 10 + hours a day on mine and have had a great experience.

I just got a Macbook Air 13in and love it. But it was a tough choice between that and the Macbook Pro which is a very good value for your money. The pro 13in is about 300USD less than the Air. But you might be able to get a student discount.

I think Macs are probably good for installing programs used for design. My brother and his wife are graphic designers and use Macs for their work.

I'm sure a PC would be good too and affordable. I prefer either hp or sony vaio because you can get more for your money. I have a hp g60 and it's pretty good and has 3gbs of ram.
