    Are you copying sentences and paragraphs word for word, or just taking ideas and putting them into your own words?

    The author and publisher of the book don't want people to copy and SELL material out of the book or copy words and then claim YOU wrote them. As long as you quote words and give the writer credit, or put things into your own words, you are okay.

    "Is it exceptable" should be "is it acceptable."

    plagerism = plagiarism

    Wondergirl is right. And if you do quote there are different methods of quoting based on the format that your teacher/professor wants you to write the assignment in and the length of the quote. More details are necessary to help you out in more detail. But as Wondergirl said, as long as you do this properly and professionally, then you have nothing to worry about.
