    Not bio father
    A paternity test proves I am not the father, but I signed the birth certificate. How do I get my name off? My lawyer can't get my divorce done until this matter is handled.

    A lot depends on where you live. Some states have only a certain amount of time before you can have it removed or challenged and others leave it open if there are other takers in the wings. What state is this happening in and how long have you been on the birth certificate?
