    Goods bought online in good faith that turn out to be fake
    I bought an IPod Nano online which appeared to be genuine and was advertised as such but when it is fake. It also doesn't work; I can't transfer music which is the whole point of an IPod. The website offers refunds for faulty goods and to customers who aren't satisfied with their purchase. I have e.mailed the company 3 times but have not had a reply although I appreciate I could be being slightly impatient as it has only been 12 days since my first e.mail. I was just wondering where I stood legally or whether it's something I will need to put down to experience.

    If the company is out side of the jurisdiction where you reside (I have no idea where you live) then you are somewhat out of luck. You'd have to start proceedings in the country that the business resides in. If you got it directly from China then I suggest you kiss your money goodbye and chalk it up to having learned a lesson.

    What website was this through? Do they have a form on the site to fill out for a return/exchange process? Usually labeled as a RMA form. Sometimes just sending an e-mail does not work. A 12 day turn-around is kind of long for professional correspondence.

    Agreed, depending on where they are at, and also how you paid.

    If you paid by credit card, dispute the charges on the first bill where this is showing up. ( does not work on debit cards)

    You can try and sue in small claims court, but collecting could be an issue still.

    When a commercial website such as this offers absolutely no contact information I usually will not part with my money there. Also in their Site Map they have leftover pages from their generic template - doesn't sound professional at all, more fly-by-night*ish.
