My girlfriend has a vaginal yeast infection
It is called 'candida' and she is having great difficulty getting rid of it. Can anyone suggest good advice or products to try. I have no symptoms. Thanks

There is an actual herbal supplement called candida, and if she takes this regularly then it does reduce the severity and chances of her getting them. Of course she would have to make sure the product is safe for her to use.

Has your girlfriend seen a doctor? Usually they can prescribe something if over the counter medications won't work. Many women prefer a single, oral dose of fluconazole for vaginal candidiasis, rather than topical creams. More serious infections may need IV medications given at the hospital.

Although antifungal drugs usually clear up the trouble, the infection can recur, sometimes as a result of reinfection by a sexual partner. Hence, treatment of both partners is sometimes necessary.

Thanks very much and will pass on infor to her. Will also get tested myself. She has already tried fluconazole and I took one tab as well in case I had it. I had slight anal itching but that has gone after I took the fuconazole. Thanks again.
