    Frustrated
I am so frustrated about being overweight. I gave birth to my son 4 months ago and during the pregnancy I could not quit eating and still have not been able to quit eating. I have always been a very healthy eater. Prior to pregnancy I was 5'7" and 135 lbs. In 13 months I have gone from that 135 lbs to 200 lbs. I can not get myself to stop eating unhealthy. I have tried cleaning out my kitchen of unhealthy foods, but it has not helped. I still manage to over indulge in everything left in the kitchen. I am so fed up with my weight and just want to go back to normal. I love being a mother but I hate the way I look now. I want to be able to be 100% happy, but I can't until I lose this weight. What can I do to lose all this weight that I need to get rid of? How can I get rid of these urges to indulge on anything I can get my hands on?

Giving birth seems to sometimes create eating changes that can last, according to women I know and hear about (my sister lost weight and stayed that way after giving birth, with no changes in eating habits, but I think most women gain). Hopefully your old internal clock will kick back in. You can't easily clear out your kitchen when there are other people in the house. I'm sure you've heard every weight loss idea there is, from small plates, raw veggie munchies prepared in advance, get full on water or broth or very weak watered down juices, tiny frequent meals, eat more in the a.m. and less at night, and of course cut out most sugar and fat and refined starches. I love carbohydrates and use winter squash and carrots mashed with sweet potatoes as my 'ice cream' at times (carrots actually contain fructose, same as cane sugar).
Vigorous exercise such as running doesn't just burn calories - I know people who couldn't quit smoking until they did it. It might enable changes in your chemistry, maybe an addiction center of the brain. I'm just guessing, but it's not harmful and worth a try. If you can't get out much try something like a mini trampoline.

You may want to try drinking lots of water and start eating lots of fruits and vegetables. You have to replace the unhealthy foods with healthy. It's about making lifestyle changes. Diets are no good because as soon as people get off them they start eating all the foods they stayed away from and in greater portions. When you make lifestyle changes you are making changes that are for your overall health. You will find," Weightloss For The Weary" very helpful it offers some very good tips on making lifestyle changes for a healthier you.
