Trying to find an alien movie...

I think it'a from the 90's , there are 2 groups of soldiers in an island !
There is an alien who can transform into a little flying orb that kills and tortures them.
The reason is because people killed his alien wife and baby..
In the end the bad guy shoots the alien and the alien does not die..
And after bad guy is dead he lets the good guy live!
