Emerson centrifugal well pump doesn't start
I have an Emerson C55CXKBC-4799 centrifugal well pump that sits outside with a reservoir tank. I was using it and then it stopped. When checked, it was hot on the outside, let it cooled off but never stopped again (primed it). I hear click sound from pressure regulator unit but pump doesn't start/pump.

Can anyone help me troubleshoot? Opened up the pump, shaft is free to turn, guessing it's the pressure regulator unit - resistor? Capacitor? Anything I should look into?

when checked, it was hot on the outside,
This doesn't sound like a control box issue to me,
It sounds like the motor windings shorted out and overheated. Have the motor checked. Good luck, Tom
