Statements for Court
I have an unemployment insurance appeal hearing, and I need statements from a former co-worker... however the person lives 70+ miles away, and is unavailable to attend the hearing, and may be only able to do a phone-conference.
Can I type a statement up for her (she lacks a computer), using her words via telephone, and then fax/mail her the statement for her to get it notarized, and then have her mail it back to me?
Or should I just have her do it the old fashioned way and write it?

Let me clarify a little more, there are so many small claims courts, 67 in Alabama where I live, each with maybe slightly different rules, best to ask the court but if what you asking is this "is an affavidit (stmt of fact) acceptable to present to the Court" it's my opionion that most small claims courts would accept this, but you first need to ask the court.

I will contact the court, as I was advised by two different attornies that handle unemployment appeal hearings, that statements that are nortarized are accepted, hower the information packet provided by the unemployment appeal hearing office states written statements are hearsay.
