Garbage disposal dishwasher inlet rotted and fell off
My garbage disposal dishwasher inlet rotted and fell off. Do I have to buy an entire new garbage disposal to hook my diswasher back up, or is there a work around?

    Hi Christy...

If the connector that connects the dishwasher drain hose to the disposal rotted then you could certainly replace that. However, if the connection to the disposal itself rotted off then there is no fix and the disposal will need to be replaced.

    Good luck!

Go to home depot and get a hose that runs from your dish washer to your disposal when you remove your dish washer the hose will run to the bottom of it and will be held on with a clamp remove the clamp and hook your new hose up and run it to your disposal that's all you have to do

Not so fast Mike, also drop the caps, sounds like you are yelling at folks. The poster says the inlet rotted off, that's the thing your hose would be connected to. The inlet is a metal part cast as part of the housing and is not recommended for replacement

Mike, all caps is considered yelling on the internet. No, we can't hear you, but we can read and all caps is considered rude and bad internet etiquette. If you refuse to drop the all caps then we'll have to take this to the mods.

Thank you for your co-operation. :)

It's not only bad etiquette, it's a little irritating. Besides, the use of all caps can be an easy way to EMPHASIZE a point, but that would not be an option when you are using it on every word.

Thanks, it was the connector that comes from the disposal itself that rotted off, so I had to replace the garbage disposal. Thanks for the feedback.
