    Car died while driving.
I had been driving about 15 minutes, when it just shut down. I tried restarting, but it wouldn't start, and looked like smoke was coming out. I had it towed to a dealer near my home. After 2 days, they can't find anything wrong with it. No codes come up on their diagnostic computer. They started it right up, and tried to run it until it died, but it didn't die. This first happened a few weeks ago, and the same place replaced the spark plugs and wires and it seemed fine until this happened again. I'm picking it up from the dealer tonight, and now I worry that it will stop in traffic again. Doesn't anyone know how to diagnose car trouble anymore?

I have a 99 subaru and my computer diagnostics are great from my garage, right down to envinromental issues. It really is bull that they don't know what's wrong. Take it somewhere else to have to looked at.

What year and make is it

It's a 2003 Jeep Liberty Sport, 4-cyl. I couldn't believe it either - they just flat out said come and get it, we don't know what to do! I'd like to have some info when I take it somewhere else so I can maybe point them in the right direction.

Ensure that you only installed the same Champion spark plugs that originally came in the SUV. I've seen major problems with other plugs in Chrysler products.

My car had a very small leak in the radiator that I didn't know about. It overheated suddenly (no light, no smell, no smoke, etc.) and died. The garage where I took it could find nothing wrong, except they discovered the leak, but thought it was too small to have anything to do with why it stopped so suddenly. They did not even check the coolant! After 2 days, they told me to just pick it up because they couldn't find the problem. I drove it carefully the next day and noted that the temp gauge kept going up and down. So, I bought a gallon of coolant and filled it up, and it has been fine ever since!
