    501(c)(3) type
I have three questions. (1) can I organize a 501(c)(3) strictly to disseminate information about a social issue? (If so, would it be an educational, or some other, type of 501(c)(3))? (2) assuming the answer to question 1 is yes, can I fund it partly through the proceeds of a book to which I hold the copyright, and partly through donations? And (3) assuming the book is successful, can the type of 501(c)(3) change to broaden its original mission from strictly educational to advocacy and/or political action? Thank you.
