    Assalaam allaikum...
Assalaam allaikum.. when we pray namaaz, we recite athahiyaath we recite the salawaath for mohammed s.a.w, I want to know if prophet mohammed did the same? Because we have to pray the way prophet mohammed prayed.. so my question is that why do we have to say the salawaath when we recite the athahiyyath? This is a doubt my friend is having so I would be very thankful to get an answer as soon as possible.. god bless you..

As Salamu Alaikum wa rahmatullah. I would go to IslamQ&A.com to find the answer.

I am certain that the Prophet Muhammad wouldn't state anyone else's name during salat, at least not until his Du'a. Scholars in general would disagree, according to Hadith, but as a non-hadith Muslim I cannot think of a reason he would do this in Salat. Salat, in my opinion, is something that is entirely dedicated to Allah, and to him do I mention and never any other.

I have my own interpretations of things, such as this, and I find all my guidance in the Qur'an so maybe you should also think about going straight there for the answer.

    Wa alaikum.
