    Lost In Algebra
    How Do You Do Elimination By Substitution?

    Solve && Check.

    2x = 4y + 14
    3x + 7y = 23

    Please Help Me!
    My Math Teacher Is Horrible

    Please rephrase your question using letters and grammar.

    Then find the correct sub-forum for this post.

    THEN you can get a value for x from your first equation (divide it by 2) then feed it in as x in the second equation. Rearrange and solve. Then put in the value you get for y into the first equation to get x.

    Just to start you off case_fee..

    you take 2x = 4y - 14, divide by 2 to get x = 2y - 7, then you can substitute this for x into your other equation to give you an equation with just y.

    Once you have y, x should be easy to find.
