    How does the clutch feel?
    Does the shift handle feel normal?

    In all liklihood, there's a problem with either the slave cylinder or the clutch itself is shot. To rule out the slave cylinder, have a friend depress the clutch pedal, while you see if the clutch fork moves sufficiently (pull back the black boot).
