Men wearing makeup?
I am not the type that usually wears makeup, by that I mean NEVER. However, with Halloween coming up my wife wanted me to go as a Joel Madden (lead singer of GooD Charlotte) because with my hair (usually in a fohawk) she said I could pull it off.
Now, this involved putting on eye-liner (guy-liner my wife calls it). Now at first I was a bit wish washy because I grew up as a jock persay, played every sport, etc... never in a million years did I put on make-up.
Turns out I don't mind it. (for costume purposes that is).
My question is this, do people view guys different who wear make-up?
Not that this means anything, its just that with my new Halloween look it got me thinking.
Just to show you I included pictures of me with some of my outfit on.

Men are supposed to be hunter-killers. If they look too pretty, what does that say about their hunter-killer prowess? The hunters-killers will end up pursuing each other instead of the meat for the dinner table.

I don't mind it, I don't think it says anything about the man, it's just a preference, like a pierced ear or a tattoo. To each their own.
Personally, I find some of the makeup wearing guys to be pretty darn hot.
Great pics by the way, you're a dead ringer for Joel.

Reminds me of a joke.
Why do women wear makeup and perfume?
Because they're ugly and they stink. :p
Running away now before the other girls throw things at me.

Actually, I like the look.
I don't know this Joel person. I will have to look that one up.
You, however, look good with it.

Why thank you for the compliments... such an ego boost!
I guess my next question would be does a male lose his "manliness" when he takes care of himself, instead of having a rugid look to him? I would think its personal preference but just wanted to know what you all thouht.

A guy can be rugged-looking and still be taking care of himself. Think of the Native Americans (and other primitive peoples). The guys wore paint when they went to war and when they danced/celebrated around the fire afterwards. When they were just hanging out or hunting, they looked their normal, rugged selves.
So when you are on the warpath or at the club, wear makeup?

I will not be wearing make-up outside of this costume, however when I put it in it got me thingking about the guys that wear it consistently.
Thank You all for your posts.
P.S. I can't wait for Halloween just to paint my nails and put my cut-off gloves on ;)
