Does her new husband want to adopt, that is the only way you can sign over your rights.
** although I can't understand how a man can just give his children away and not want to see or be part of their life.

There is this myth out there that a parent can just give up their rights to a child. That is not the case. Only a court can terminate parental rights and courts are very reluctant to do so. You do have one thing going for you, though. One of the main reason a court will grant a TPR is to clear the way for an adoption. So if the step dad wants to adopt, you can probably get a TPR if you don't stand in the way. Be aware though, that allowing an adoption means you will have all legal ties to your children severed. If the parents wish to prevent you from any contact with the children, they can do so.

What needs to happen is the step dad has to file for adoption. As part of the process you will be asked to voluntarily relinquish rights, their attorney will send you the paperwork. There is nothing you can do on your end, it has to be initiated by the step dad and the mother.
